Congress
Government has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi by saying he failed
to keep the promises made by the previous UPA Government on granting the
special category status.
The Congress
also announced 'matti satyagraha (soil movement) under which it will
collect soil from various places in the state and send it to PM.
Congress President N.Raghuveera Reddy said, " Everyone expected Prime
Minister Narendra Modi to announce special status during the Amaravati
Stone laying ceremony last month.
But
Modi just brought 'matti and neeru' (Soil and Water) from Delhi and
insulted people of Andhra. Special status is the right of the people of
Andhra Pradesh. We will fight until we achieve it." He further added
that when Congress was ruling they intentionally avoided granting the
special status as they need to keep the promises.
It
has to be noted that Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated to create Telangana
as separate state. This happened under Congress regime. He also added
that Rahul Gandhi contributed to Andhra Pradesh by introducing lots of
government schemes.
