BJP has opened its account in Manipur
assembly by winning bypoll elections in two constituencies at
Thangmeiband and Thongju today. As per latest new, BJP bagged
Thangmeiband assembly by a margin of 1903 votes. The contestant won
against Jyotin Waikhom of Congress party.
Jyotin
bagged 10195 votes and BJP bagged 12098 votes. In Thongju assembly
constituency, Bishwajit Singh of BJP bagged 14605 votes and the opponent
Bijoy Koijam of Congress just managed to get 11393 votes.
Tonsana
Sharma from Manipur Democratic People Front even lost his deposit as he
failed to get the required number of votes in both the constituencies.
The speaker also disqualified the MLA of Wangoi Assembly constituency
following an appeal in the court.
The
speaker also disqualified three MLA's and they formed a new party with a
separation from Trinamool Congress. In Thangmaiband assembly
constituency, the three contenders in this bypoll were - Kh Joykishan of
BJP, Jyoti Waikhom of Congress and G.A.Tonsana Sharma of Manipur
Democratic People Front.
