Racial tensions have started in Chicago
as officials released a video (Graphic) of a police officer shooting a
black teenager. Lots of protests are going in Chicago and police are
trying to control them. A video showed Police officer Jason Van Dyke
firing sixteen times on the 17 year old Laquan McDonald.
The
video was shot from top angle and it showed an officer shooting at
McDonald's chest as he lays in fetal position. The video showed the
brutality of the police. Cook County State's Attorney Anita Alvarez
said, "This is graphic. But it is violent and chilling."
Van
Dyke is now charged with first degree murder. In past 30 years, this is
the first time a police officer is charged for first degree murder.
Mayor Rahm Emmanuel has requested the people to be calm.
He
said, "I understand people will be upset and will want to protest when
they see this video. But it is even more essential to be calm and
peaceful. People have all the right to get angry and right to protest.
But they don't have right to do and commit criminal acts."
