Madhya Pradesh pays $100,000 for pirated software
It is quite common in India for people to use pirated softwares. An Indian textile company has used a pirated software and has been caught red handed. They also agreed to pay penalty of USD 100,000$. This amount is equal to Rs.66 lakhs in Indian amount.

They have decided to settle the charges of using pirated softwares. The Textile company named, Pratibha Syntex Ltd is at Madhya Pradesh. They export clothes to leading American companies and this also includes Walmart.


As per the settlement reached, which was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court and has been approved by a judge, the textile company has agreed to pay USD 100,000 in restitution within 30 days. Regarding this California Attorney General Kamala Harris said,

"Pratibha Syntex engaged in illegal business practices that placed California garment companies at a disadvantage, while hurting American software companies' ability to develop new and innovative products. Businesses all over the globe should be on notice that the state of California will hold them for stealing without fare payment."
