So how will Christmas be celebrated in a
terrorist nation filled with Muslims ? But this year it has been a
special celebration. Local authorities in Baghdad have put an Official
Christmas celebration this year. Fireworks were set off over the Tigris
in Baghdad due to the celebration.
With
respect to the celebrations, A big Christmas tree in whole of the Middle
East was installed in an amusement park in the city. In a press
statement, President Barack Obama said, "In some areas of the Middle
East where church bells have rung for centuries on Christmas Day, this
year they will be silent."
As we knew
the minorities where the Christians and they were largely made up of
ethnic Assyrians. But for quite a long period, the Christians were
living with peace and they also enjoy the exemption from Islamic
Religious law.
Archbishop Bashar Warda
of the Catholic Chaldean said, "We never had much time left as
Christians in this region. There were about 1 million Christians in
Iraq, and more than half of them have been displaced."
