India will launch 6 Singaporean
satellites weighing a total of around 625 kg on 16th of December through
Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) rocket. The news was confirmed by
a senior official.
A senior official
of ISRO said, "This is a commercial launch. The rocket will blast off
from Sriharikota Rocket launch center at 6pm on 16th of December. The
Indian Rocket will carry 6 satellites all from Singapore. Among the six,
the major weightage for the PSLV rocket will be the earth observation
satellite known as TeLEOS which weighs around 400Kg."
As
per sources ISRO will just be flying the 'Core Alone' variant of PSLV
rocket. They won't have any strap on boosters. This December 16 mission
will be the last rocket launch mission for ISRO in 2015.
So
far in 2015m ISRO has launched 14 satellites (3 Indian and 11 foreign)
from its rocket port in Sriharikota. 13 satellites were launched with
PSLV rocket and one communication satellite GSAT-6 was launched with
Geosynchronous satellite launch vehicle (GSLV).
