It is the month of Winter and the
troubles have started for people in Jammu and Kashmir. The persistent
snowfall has caused to close of roads in the Jammu-Srinagar national
highway. Along with snow fall the rains also caused more trouble.
This
also lead to landslides and the roads were blocked at most of the
places. Regarding this, a Senior Traffic Department Official said, "The
landslides and snowfall has completely blocked the roads at Kheri
Udhampur and heavy motor vehicles have been stopped at Sangoor.
Other
areas which are affected are in Udhampur. All vehicles were advised not
to move forward. The persistent snowfall near the Jawahar tunnel at
Banihal disrupted traffic along the national highway.
We
have stopped the vehicles, both light motor and heavy motor at Shaan
Palace Ramban and Chanderkot of Ramban district to avoid more
congestion." Vehicles are immobilized and everyone were worried as they
were looking forward to clear the traffic. The workers are working to
pull the snow out right at this moment.
