External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj
has promised that Geeta will be reunited with her parents. Geeta who is
a hearing and speech impaired girl returned to India by October after
she was stranded in Pakistan for over a decade. Indian Government is
trying so hard to locate the whereabouts of her parents.
Geeta
came to India on 26th October after she went to Pakistan long back.
Right now she is living at Madhya Pradesh's Indore district. She is at a
facility of a hearing and speech impaired institute run by a local NGO.
Monika Punjabi Verama who is the institute's sign language department
head said,
"External affairs minister
Sushma called Geeta to a hotel last night. As soon as Sushma met Geeta,
she hugged her. The minister promised that the Government will take all
measures to reunite the girl with her parents. Geeta also showed a cloth
which was knitted by her. Sushma admired her talent."
Minister
is still tweeting Geeta's pictures from olden days when she got
separated from her parents. In this case, a 40 year old lady calls
herself as mother of Geetha. She is from Jabalpur district.
