Anything is possible in India. Need to
carry goods illegal ? Need to smuggle gold ? Need to carry away ?
Anything is possible. But recently the screws were tightened and during a
serious security breach, three people flying on Delhi - Mumbai flight
were caught at Mumbai Airport.
A
passenger said, "Three guys were carrying liquor and we complained to
the cabin crew. Then they informed the pilot and they told the matter to
CISF. Police immediately apprehended the persons who were carrying the
liquor." Another official said that the three people were let off with a
fair warning and a minor fine amount.
The
Airline was said to be 'GoAir'. The spokesman regarding the GoAir
Airlines said that they took an apology letter from all three of them
for drinking on board. According to aviation security rules globally,
liquor bottles cannot be carried on board aircraft.
International
passengers alone can carry two litres of liquor from duty free shops
and they must also get prior permission. A security official said,
"These passengers bought bottles on international journey. The checking
was not possible at domestic terminal."
