In India, we still speak about General
equality. And in real we ensure that it doesn't happen. But now, a
recent survey says, Britain shows more interest in Gender equality.
Men in Britain are stronger supporters of gender equality than women
themselves.
A recent report says that
86% of men believe  that women should also have same opportunities as
they do. 81% of women feel the same. Seven out of ten men believe that
an equal society will be better for economy. 39% feel that this will
definitely this will benefit men alone.
The
survey was conducted by women's rights charity the Fawcett Society.
Seven percent of men think they would lose out if society was more
equal. Sam Smethers who is the Chief executive in Fawcett Society said,
"We won't achieve equality without engaging and persuading men.
We
never had a better opportunity to create a more equal society. But
despite this, stubborn barriers remain." The survey also said that 16%
of 16 percent of recruitment managers are against gender equality and
14% believe they would be knocked out if men and women had equal
opportunities.
