Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his
England tour earlier this month addressed a join press conference with
Britain Prime Minister, David Cameron. In that Press conference, Britain
PM announced that England will be developing three Indian cities -
Amaravati, Pune and Indore as Smart Cities.
Over
enthusiastic Press immediately took up the news that England will
developing AP's upcoming capital as Smart City. Leave aside about media,
but a over enthusiastic Chandrababu Naidu also tweeted about the same.
He posted in his Twitter, "#Amaravati will be one of 3 smart cities UK
will develop in 5-yr partnership with India @narendramodi ji &
@David_Cameron #ModiInUK".
But now it is
revealed that Cameron is not referring to AP's Amaravati but had spoken
of Amaravati in Maharashtra. An ill-informed and over enthusiastic
Chief Minister made a very silly mistake. This was confirmed by Britain
Deputy High Commissioner the other day in Mumbai. Whatever it may be the
people of AP will be certainly disappointed.
