Indian Navy celebrate 'Families Day'
Indian Navy is a is the naval branch of the armed forces of India. The President of India serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy. The Chief of Naval Staff, usually a four-star officer in the rank of Admiral, commands the navy. Head Quarters for Indian Navy is at New Delhi.

The main duty of Indian navy is to secure maritime borders. They also use navy to enhance international relations. For past few years they have undergone rapid modernization. Indian Navy has a strength of 59,000 personnel.

And now as a part of Navy Day 2015 celebrations, Families of Navy personnel were called and 'Families Day' was celebrated in Goa on-board Indian Navy Ships (INS) Mysore, Tarkash and Cankarso. The event was presided by Goa Governor Mridula Sinha and there were over 2000 families.  Rear Admiral Puneet K Bahl, VSM Flag Officer Goa Naval Area were also present.

The audience witnessed high speed manoeuvers by ships, transfer of personnel between ships, Search and Rescue demonstration by Naval helicopters, close range anti-aircraft firing and demonstration by various aircraft of the Indian Navy.
