The much expected World Climate Change
Conference 2015 (COP 21) took place on Monday. And during this
conference, both India and France have launched an international
alliance seeking to mobilize more than a trillion dollars by 2030 and
deliver clean, solar energy.
From
France, French President Francois Hollande and from India, Prime
Minister Narendra Modi attended the launch of International Solar
Alliance. The French President Francois Hollande said he was talking
with UN for about two weeks to get the support of 200 nations and to
bring a global deal.
During
the past, India itself is seen as an obstacle as it pushes the
population of more than a billion to develop. But Narendra Modi feels
that Solar will allow India to protect the environment with growth and
it sets a positive tone.
While speaking
at the conference, Narendra Modi said, "There is a revolution happening
in solar energy. Technology is rising each day and costs are coming
down. We need to bring Solar energy into lives and homes by making it
cheaper, reliable and easily connected to the grid."
