Pentagon opens for women

Pentagon opens for women
The Pentagon is the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense, located in Arlington County, Virginia. This is a symbol of US Military and 'The Pentagon' is used to symbolize US Department of Defense. Now, in a historic decision, the Pentagon chief has opened all jobs in combat units to women.

The news was said by U.S. military, Defense Secretary Ash Carter. During a news conference he said, "There are no exceptions. Women will be allowed to drive tanks, fire mortars and lead infantry soldiers into combat.

They'll be able to serve as Army Rangers and Green Berets, Navy SEALs, Marine Corps infantry, Air Force para-jumpers and everything else that was previously open only to men." This decision has shocked everyone because during 1994 Pentagon rule, a rule was imposed that women were restricted to combat roles.

But now it has been 21 years since then and it is a long way. This ground breaking decision will open around 250,000 jobs to women. The Navy and Air Force already opened all combat positions to women.
