G.Madhavan Nair said that Indian
schools are just like factories which produce students as machines. He
took a lash out at the country's educational system. He also said China
has dominated us and has 'Overtaken' in many areas.
The
former Chairman of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) said that
school syllabus has to be changed. Children should be encouraged to
directly engage in laboratory experiments while teachers too should be
trained to motivate the students.
Madhavan
Nair in Hyderabad said, "The Children are dealt like a factory. At one
end they come and go and they were forced to get 'A' grades. Research
& Design activities in the country are limited as most of them are
supported by the government. Some of the labs are good but the funding
by Government has just remained static over the years.
A
large number of universities have come into existence (in recent years)
but, unfortunately none of them carry out a serious research work. We
need to provide incentive packages for those who wanted to pursue a
career in science and technology."
