Tirupati city
is planning to be a Smart City soon. The Tirupati Municipal Corporation
and LEA Associates have planned that the town still needs 2700 Crores
within next five years to achieve the smart city goals.
The
estimation details regarding the smart city will be submitted to
Central Government. Apart from this, the state and the central
governments will share Rs.500 Crores each. The civic body has promised
to raise 491 Crores through 'Convergence' program.

Crores will be got through public-private partnership (PPP). Initially
the state Government will spend a sum of 81 Crores. Based on the new
Smart city concept, the civic body has to make the city more efficient.
Right
now there are 20 major problems and they need to be uprooted. Right now
the civic body is making strategies to make the city smart. The main
problem is improving the drinking water supply. The town needs around 70
million litres of drinking water and right now only 57 million litres
are available.
