It has been
more than 18 months since the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh took place.
Since then there has been a discontent in Rayalaseema area which is
likely to turn into a movement. The Rayalaseema region comprises four
districts - Kurnool, Kadapa, Anantapur and Chittoor and all four are
drought prone areas.
And in order to
over come this they planned to start a separate movement for Rayalaseema
claiming various points. But right now no leader is coming forward to
bear the cost of agitation.
Some senior
Rayalaseema leaders said that it is not easy to run the movement as no
one is ready to spend money and people are also not willing to join the
movement. A leader said, "If there is any agitation in Rayalaseema, it
is by leaders and not by people. They need a strong leader to educate
the people.
But the question is till
then will the agitation sustain? And even it should sustain, it requires
a lot of money. There is no seriousness among the leaders to lead the
separate Rayalaseema movement."
