In state of Andhra Pradesh, the current
situation is if you find a lamp glowing even by midnight, and even if
it its a 'No Moon Day' then it is sure it will be a liquor shop. People
may find it hard to locate a medical shop 24*7 in outskirts of towns and
some villages.
But every one can get
easy access to liquor shop. The state government is also providing
access to this as they get more revenue through liquor sales. The
problem is not the opening of shops by midnight. The problem is
drunkards who create problems after drinking.
Regarding
opening shops at midnight, a liquor merchant said, "We spend more than 2
lakhs as bribes. We provide that to various departments. Everyone in
the Government knows this. No one in the government listen to wise
words.
Because, there is huge money in
the liquor trade." Another source said that Officials are just acting
blind towards these liquor merchants who violate rules. Will AP
Government take necessary action ?
