In
what is being seen as taking forward the process of recent bonhomie,
the Telangana government has expressed joining forces with Andhra
Pradesh for sustaining industries in both the Telugu states. The
proposal for a mutually beneficial partnership was expressed in a letter
from Telangana CM Chandrasekhar Rao.
He
had sent it to AP CM Chandrababu Naidu through Telangana’s deputy chief
minister Kadiyam Srihari as well as tribal welfare minister A
Chandulal. Telangana has been seeking pulpwood from AP to revive the AP
Rayons Factory located in Warangal district
KCR
reportedly mentioned in this letter that Telangana too would be
extending generous help to industries located in AP. Chandrasekhar Rao
mentioned how Rayons factory is in need of 5 lakh tonnes of eucalyptus
and bamboo annually. This was fulfilled before bifurcation by the AP
Forest Development Corporation.
However,
after bifurcation, Telangana could only supply nearly 1.25 lakh tonnes
of pulpwood and in order to bridge this deficit, KCR had reportedly
requested AP to supply 4 lakh tonnes of this raw material annually to
the factory. KCR also mentioned how 1,000 people were directly employed
directly by the company and how many of them working here are also from
Uttarandhra!
