The BJP-led Modi government remained in
the news this year for all of its hits and misses. Though several
oppositions were thrown over its decision-making, the Modi government
managed to take several notable initiatives. Surviving midst the dust of
controversies, here we present few landmark initiatives of the Modi
Sarkar that can change the nation’s fate, if pursued with gust.
1. Digital India
It
was a program to transform the nation into a knowledge economy and
digitally-empowered society. The initiative targeted to prepare the
nation for a future that centers technology for enabling the desired
change.
The
urban areas were focused through this initiative for providing the core
infrastructure for decent living. It was a step towards smarter India
and urban transformation that would ultimately drive economic growth.
3. Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan- Accessible India Campaign
Launched
on December 5, the campaign was targeted to provide an accessible
infrastructure for persons with disability. Nation-wide flagship
campaign focuses in achieving equal opportunity and independent living
for the physically challenged, aiming towards an inclusive society. The
initial goal was to make all government buildings fully accessible,
including transportation and communication eco-system.
4. Start Up India, Stand Up India
The
Start Up India plan was the government’s campaign seeking to boost
entrepreneurship in the nation. The action plan would be unveiled next
month. The government plans to provide opportunities for Indian youth
entrepreneurs to prosper though forming start-ups. Innovative ideas are
welcome from all sectors of business as the initiative targets new ways
and new thinking.
5. Skill India
The
initiative was launched to emerge India as a Human Resource Capital in
the global platform. It aims at providing training and education to 40
crore people by 2022. It holds a tagline of 'Kaushal Bharat, Kushal
Bharat', which means Skilled India, Successful India. The scheme
recognizes and provides the required skills programme and formal
certification to workers among unorganized sectors of the nation.
