Security tightened in J&K

With respect to the upcoming Republic Day celebrations, Security has been tightened in Jammy and Kashmir. The pathankot terror attack already was a wake up alarm. Intelligence Agencies and Security Forces are reviewing all arrangements for the upcoming Republic day functions in Jammu and Kashmir.

A Senior Intelligence Officer said, "Security review meetings are being held on a daily basis this time to take a re-look on everything concerned with providing security to Republic Day functions in the state.


Army's Jammu-based 16 Corps and Srinagar-based 15 Corps are actively engaged in all meetings. We are focusing more on the security after the Pathankot terror attack. Republic Day parade and flag hoisting takes place in the Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu city.

We have already deployed more than 1200 security personnel at the venue. The rehearsal of the parade is completed." It has to be noted that in 1995 some explosions took place inside the stadium when K.V.Krishna Rao was delivering the speech.
