Washington DC, New York and other East
Coast cities were completely covered with snow. More than thousands of
flights were cancelled and delayed due to this unexpected winter storm.
Five
states declared emergencies as this is the the season's first major
Atlantic Coast storm started to move over the Mid-South before barreling
on an expected north and eastward course bringing up to two feet of
snow to some areas.
The Winter storm is
expected to dump up to 30 inches of snow in all the mentioned regions.
Baltimore is said to be the worst hit place. Extreme Conditions were
announced once again. New York City is also under blizzard threat for
Saturday morning. The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority has
suspended their operations with respect to this snow storm.
Most
of the grocery stores were lacking the essential food items such as
Bread, Milk and Jam. Consumer watchdogs warned not to hike prices at
this period. Airlines also cancelled most of the flights for Friday and
Saturday. More number of flights are expected to be cancelled in Sunday
too.
