Russian President Vladimir Putin has
said that Syria needs a new start, And in order to that new start, they
need a new constitution. He also said that will be the first step to
find a solution to its civil war. Putin earlier made air strikes against
Syria.
He said in his recent interview
to a German newspaper that the crisis in relations between regional
rivals Saudi Arabia and Iran would complicate the search for peace in
Syria. He said, "It is absolutely a must and a necessary towards
constitutional reform (in Syria). It's a complicated process, of course.
And
after that, on the basis of the new constitution, (Syria should) hold
early presidential and parliamentary elections. We are not backing any
actions against Islamic state. We are just making our own operations
with respect to our own safety.
I am
talking about hundreds, thousands of armed people, who combat Islamic
State. Most of them have spoken in Public and the rest have just kept
silent mode on. If Syria needs our participation, we will be ready to do
everything."
