Ruling TRS
party created sensation by capturing the Warangal Loksabha Seat winning
it by record margin. Its candidate Pasunuri Dayakar broke all records
winning from Warangal constituency by record 4,50,104 votes which his
the fifth highest majority in the country.
He in the process broke even Telangana CM,TRS chief KCR and Kadiyam Srihari's earlier records. Kadiyam Srihari in 2014 general elections won from the constituency with a majority of 3,92,574 votes. Dayakar even crossed KCR's record majority in 2014 election from Medak Lok Sabha constituency which was 3,97,027.
The
Warangal result came as shock to TDP-BJP combine which expected to do
well banking on PM Modi's various developmental schemes and also on
Warangal becoming smart city and Congress which hoped to decimate TRS
banking on the unrest among farmers and other people who even questioned
top TRS leaders and even Ministers like KTR and Harish Rao during the
campaigning.
Warangal result
shocked even seasoned poll analysts who predicted TRS majority to
comedown due to anti incumbancy. Ruling TRS candidate crushed entire
opposition and right from the start of the counting he maintained
considerable lead with soared as the counting progressed.
All
parties lost deposits including Communists, YSRCP and independents.
Congress which secured 22.91 percent with 2,69,065 votes in 2014 general
election has put up a poor show this time with only 1,54,998 votes and
BJP-TDP combine could get 1,29,118. YSRCP has bettered its tally with
23,222 votes.
Dayakar after
winning the elections thanked Warangal people for reposing faith in him
and KCR and promised to work for their development.
