When more than 1.08
voters names were found missing and deleted from the voters list in
GHMC, it triggered huge controversy. Opposition parties blasted CM KCR
and TRS led Government in Telangana accusing it of hatching a
conspiracy.
They alleged TRS fearing defeat deleted many semandhra voters names from the list.The issue reached Election Commission and after thorough investigation EC shared its views on the missing voters.
Election Commission responding to petitioners Nagesh Mudiraj and Feroze Khan of the city who had moved the Hyderabad High Court for a direction to the TS government, GHMC and the State Election Commission not to make public the final electoral roll ward-wise said there was no political or deliberate attempt to delete 6.39 lakh people names from the list.
It said the Commission's team visited the state from Oct 29-Nov 2 and found out that there was no attempt to delete the names. Earlier, Justice C.V. Nagarjuna Reddy had directed the EC to take a decision on deletion of voters’ name by December 10 and communicate the same to the petitioners.
