'Tobacco Ban' extended by a year
Telangana Government has extended the ban on Tobacco products for another one year. So the usage of Gutkha and Pan Masala is prohibited for another one year. The ban has been imposed with respect to the commissioner of food safety under section 30 of the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006.

The ban not just allows to sell the products. Even manufacturing and storage is also banned. Transportation and Sale of all tobacco products which contain nicotine is banned.

Despite lots of warning that, chewing tobacco products like chap tobacco, pure tobacco, khaini, kharra, scented tobacco, etc will result in cancer, people don't mind it. Lots of deaths happened and immediately Government imposed a ban on the products.

And if any person finds to break this and was found to sell or trade tobacco products will be treated as a criminal. He will be arrested with respect to contravention of the prohibition order is an offense and punishable with imprisonment/fine under the provision of Food Safety and Standards Act 2006.
