As per latest reports around 20 people
were hospitalized after a gun firing has happened at a playground in New
Orleans. The shooting has taken place by 7pm (local time) in Bunny
Friend Park in the city's Upper Ninth Ward.
Police
have been rushed to the situation and they are slowly bringing things
under control. A Police Superintendent from New Orleans, Michael
Harrison said lots of people had fired into the crowd. He has cleared
the fact that no one has died due to this incident.
He
said, "Around 500 people were in the crowd. I can't speak on the
present condition. But I can assure there were only injuries and no
deaths." Witnesses who were present at the spot said, they saw a man
with Silver coloured machine gun and they also heard lots of gun shots
within the crowd.
After hearing the
sound, most of them were lying on the side walk. A NOPD spokes person
Tyler said, "There are two groups who were involved in this gun firing
and they ran off after the shooting." As per media reports, 10-15 people
were taken to nearby local hospitals.
