After the huge response of police
control call centre Dial-100 service in select cities, UP Government has
decided to approve extension for whole state. The Government has
already passed a sum of Rs.33.55 Crores and eight acres of land from
Lucknow Development Authority (LDA).
An
official spokesperson said, "The service will be started soon across
the whole state and the approval was just provided. Chief Minister
Akhilesh Yadav gave the approval just now. Ernst and Young has been
appointed as the consultant for the project and this will be a part of
police emergency response management system (PERMS)."
Chief
Minister also has appointed Public Works Department (PWD) for
constructing the building and this building will act as the
co-ordination place. Already a price of Rs.67.48 Crores was sanctioned
for this purpose. Out of this 67.48 Crores, 26.99 Crores has been
released this financial year itself.
The
co-ordination centre of Dial-100 will have 300 communication officers
to receive distress calls from all over the state and 200 dispatch
officers to rush timely police help.
